The President of the Metropolitan Entity, Rodrigo Fernández, presented an electric bicycle of completely Cordoban production, the result of a collaboration between the companies Parra and Tomaselli.
This vehicle will be the protagonist of a pilot test of sustainable mobility in the localities of the Metropolitan Entity.
Characteristics of the Electric Bicycle Presented in Córdoba
The bicycle is assembled with more than half of its components sourced locally, complemented with parts of national origin and a small imported part. Its features include:
- 350-watt motor mounted on the rear wheel.
- Lithium battery integrated into the frame.
- Front suspension.
- Disc brake on both wheels.
- Five levels of pedal assistance.
- Battery autonomy between 30 and 70 kilometers.
Implementation and Utility of the Electric Bicycle
The Municipality of Córdoba will receive a first batch of units, destined for the Urban Guard for park patrols. Fernández emphasized the importance of continuing to work on the sustainability of local and metropolitan transportation, as well as on public policies that promote sustainability.
Connection of Bike Lanes
The head of the Entity also highlighted the works of extension of bike lanes that connected Córdoba with the metropolitan cities of Malvinas Argentinas, Estación Juárez Celman, and Mi Granja.
These initiatives are part of the effort to create platforms to apply sustainable mobility.
Importance of Sustainability Public Policies
Fernández emphasized the need for the provincial government, municipalities, and deliberative councils to understand that sustainability public policies are cross-cutting and essential to improve quality of life.
The network of bike paths and lanes in Córdoba, along with the free Bici CBA system, which reached 80,000 users in early November, are examples of these efforts.
