The number of electric vehicles in Madrid, Spain, has been increasing significantly recently. Now, the local City Council presented 92 new motorcycles for the Mobility Agents and thus completed 100% of the fleet with this system.

More electric vehicles on the streets of Madrid
The Madrid City Council managed to complete the electrification of 100% of the fleet of vehicles for the Mobility Agents.
This milestone was achieved with the incorporation of 92 new electric motorcycles. With these new vehicles, the entire fleet of 196 vehicles in the municipal fleet of Mobility Agents is now zero emissions.
What are electric motorcycles like?
The motorcycles incorporated into the fleet of electric vehicles for Mobility Agents are motorcycles (BMW CE 04) that do not generate emissions and have a range of 130 kilometers. They do not require special chargers and can get their energy from the domestic grid.
The use of electric vehicles has grown worldwide.
However, in order to optimize the use of these new motorcycles, the City Council also acquired 17 electric chargers which, added to the existing 12, allow this body to have a total of 29.
They are distributed in different sections, three of which are fast chargers, they pointed out.
What is renting?
Another relevant fact is that the acquisition of these new vehicles was made through the renting formula, which allows renting a car long-term in exchange for a monthly fee. It also includes all maintenance expenses.
This is a great advantage because it will allow Mobility Agents to have a sustainable and completely renewed fleet every four years.
A fleet of 100% electric vehicles
The Madrid City Council, in line with the objectives set in the Madrid 360 Environmental Sustainability Strategy to comply with the European Air Quality Directive, is fully committed to the renewal of municipal vehicles.
In the same vein, progress was made in the electrification of the bus fleet of the Municipal Transport Company (EMT Madrid). In addition to vehicles and machinery for parks and gardens cleaning.

Regarding the fleet of 196 vehicles for Mobility Agents, it is composed of the following units, all zero emissions.
There are three electric vans (Peugeot), 44 electric cars (Hyundai Kona), 122 motorcycles (30 of them Zero and the 92 BMW presented today), and 27 electric bicycles.
