The advanced knowledge of **San Juan** in creating **solar parks** has been crucial for **Neuquén**.

After successfully designing and implementing the **Cutral Co Photovoltaic Solar Park**, Energía Provincial Sociedad del Estado (EPSE) is now contributing its expertise to build the [largest solar park in Patagonia](https://noticiasambientales.com/energia/neuquen-construira-el-parque-solar-mas-grande-de-la-patagonia/).

## New project in Neuquén: 50 MW of solar energy

This new project, driven by the province and developed in collaboration with EPSE, will have an **installed capacity of 50 MW** and will be located on a 100-hectare site in the new municipal district.

Construction of the park will begin in February 2025, with the first 10 MW phase ready by October of the same year.

### Project presentation and benefits for Neuquén

Yesterday, the **project presentation** was held, developed by experts from San Juan, and the governor of Neuquén, Rolando Figueroa, described the project as a “symbol of **energy independence** and economic sovereignty.”

EPSE President Lucas Estrada presented a comprehensive report on the solar resource in the project area and the coordination of pre-feasibility studies.

## Technical details of the project to create the new solar park

The document presented includes all the technical aspects necessary for the bidding process, allowing the construction of the 50 MW Solar Park. “Solar **energy** is now the most competitive and clean alternative in the market. This park will not only be a milestone for Neuquén but also an example of how working together allows achieving extraordinary results,” highlighted Estrada.

Neuquén Mayor Mariano Gaido emphasized that this project is the result of a joint effort that began in 2021. “Neuquén is taking a decisive step towards the [use of clean energy](https://noticiasambientales.com/energia/calingasta-avanza-con-proyecto-de-parque-solar-para-pymes/). This project not only drives economic development but also positions our city as a **model of sustainability**,” he stated.

## Previous experience: Cutral Co Photovoltaic Solar Park

Furthermore, EPSE has developed the Cutral Co Photovoltaic Solar Park (PSFV), an innovative 3.5 MW project in Neuquén. EPSE was responsible for the basic engineering and bidding plans for the project.

A team of **San Juan experts** traveled to train future operators of the solar park for a month. Previously, the Neuquén “students” were trained in San Juan, at the EPSE solar parks in the province. During the commissioning of the park, EPSE’s Mauro Strada and Federico Morán actively participated, allowing future operators to understand firsthand the challenges of **operating a solar plant**.
