The **Government of Chubut**, led by Governor Ignacio “Nacho” Torres, is intensifying its efforts in the energy transition by installing **renewable energy systems** in various rural areas of the province.
The Subsecretariat of Renewable Energies, part of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Energy, and Planning, is responsible for implementing **sustainable technology**, with a special focus on **rural populations and educational spaces**.
Renewable energies in rural areas
During November, **photovoltaic systems** were inspected in student hostels in Chacay Oeste, Blancuntre, Cushamen, Fofo Cahuel, and Costa Del Lepá, as well as in the educational camps of Piedra Parada and Lago Puelo.
Additionally, in the town of Aldea Epulef, **seven domestic photovoltaic systems** were installed, benefiting rural families who do not have access to the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI).
The project, endorsed by the Federal Council of Electric Energy, aims to **equip 30 homes with renewable energy** in the communes of Aldea Epulef and Colan Conhué.
Each system includes a 310-watt solar panel, an MPPT solar regulator, and a 12-volt battery. This LED lighting infrastructure and capacity to power basic devices offer an **accessible and sustainable solution for remote areas**.
Training and community development
Furthermore, the training “Energy Transition: School and Community” was carried out at the Secondary School No. 706 “Gregorio Mayo” in Río Mayo. During the activity, teacher Julio Martínez highlighted the importance of renewable energies as a tool to combat extreme poverty and **modernize rural environments**.
The Government of Chubut reaffirms its **commitment to sustainable development**, betting on renewable energy as a driver of social and environmental change throughout the province.
