In a key step towards energy transition and local sustainability, the municipality of San Cayetano signed a loan agreement with Banco Provincia de Buenos Aires to finance the construction of a solar park in its seaside resort. The agreement was signed at the Salón de los Acuerdos of the Casa de Gobierno, with the participation of the mayor Miguel Gargaglione, the governor Axel Kicillof, and the president of the bank, Juan Cuattromo.

The investment, amounting to 600 million pesos, aims to address the current lack of electricity supply in the coastal area and move towards a cleaner and more self-sufficient energy model. “This loan will allow us to address a historical deficiency and continue to bet on the sustainable growth of our seaside resort,” stated Gargaglione after the agreement was signed.

The project includes the installation of solar panels on fixed structures, along with a battery storage system that will ensure supply during peak consumption hours. This infrastructure will provide renewable energy to an area that previously faced limitations for its tourism development due to the lack of a stable connection to the electrical grid.

The loan has a term of 48 months for amortization, with 12 months of grace period and a fixed interest rate of 35% per year, as reported by the municipality in a statement. This is a strategic investment that not only responds to a specific need but also positions San Cayetano as an example of local management focused on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. With this initiative, the district takes a firm step towards a greener future, where tourism, energy autonomy, and environmental care can go hand in hand.
