In the last session of the year, the Legislature of **Chaco** approved the update of the **Native Forest Territorial Planning** of the province. They did so by passing regulation No. 4152-R, which amends Law 4005-R.
The project was presented by Governor **Leandro Zdero**. The modification aims to strengthen the **conservation of native forests** and adapt the regulations to the requirements established by **National Law 26.331**.
## The new forest planning in Chaco
At the same time, the initiative aims to increase conservation areas in the territory and ensure the **integral protection of forest ecosystems**, in accordance with the forest law.
Likewise, they approved the consolidation in the **Legal Digest of the Province** of Chaco, the laws and their respective texts, organized thematically, systematized, updated, merged, corrected, and sanctioned.
These include those published from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, along with all those affected by these, and those that contain references that have been subject to adjustments.
## Native forests: a key modification
The law passed this Wednesday modified several issues and established, in article 5th sec b), that in the **yellow area** one hundred percent (100%) of the Native Forest must be preserved, as the original regulation allowed logging in 20% of these areas.
This update included articles 10 and 11 to law No. 4005 R. And established that in cases of **loss of native forest** due to illegal deforestation, in addition to requiring its restoration, the affected hectares must remain in the conservation category of the Native Forest Territorial Planning in which it was at the time of the infringement.
