The new regulations prohibit:

  • Commercial fishing of dorado.
  • Collection, sale, possession, and transport of dorado throughout the provincial territory.

However, it allows:

Conservation and Education

The law places Entre Ríos on par with other provinces concerning the protection of dorado, safeguarding artisanal fishing involving riverside residents.

The President of the Culture and Tourism Committee of the provincial Lower House, Mauro Godein, emphasized that the dorado is a species threatened by predation and in decline, and that the project aims to align Entre Ríos with neighboring provinces in the Plata Basin.

Main Objective of the Dorado Law

The main objective of the law is the conservation of dorado in all its species, considering its ecological and economic importance in the face of the threat of indiscriminate fishing and habitat degradation.

The legislation complements national regulations and responds to global conservation trends to ensure the long-term survival of the dorado.
