In an important environmental protection operation, park rangers in Misiones dismantled an illegal hunting scheme in the Piñalito Provincial Park, where traps and artificial baits designed to capture wildlife, including birds, were found.

The action, carried out with colleagues from the Esmeralda and Cruce Caballero parks, allowed to eliminate hunting structures and protect the local biodiversity.

Detecting and removing traps

During a series of internal and external patrols, park rangers found paths opened by hunters leading into the forest. Among the discovered traps, the following were identified:

  • Corn and salt baits, used to attract animals.
  • Camouflaged structures, where hunters waited hidden.
  • Devices specifically designed to trap live birds.

All the illegal infrastructure was immediately destroyed, ensuring the protection of wildlife.

Efforts of the jungle operations group

This operation is part of the actions of the Jungle Operations Group of the Ministry of Ecology, which aims to preserve protected natural areas and stop illegal hunting.

The work of the park rangers has been key in detecting and neutralizing this type of illegal activities.
