On Thursday, during the XXII ordinary session of the Deliberative Council, the project presented by the councilors of Juntos por Entre Ríos that creates the “System of Protected Natural Areas” was approved.
This system proposes that municipal domain properties and those of private ownership that are incorporated through agreements with their owners be considered protected natural areas. The program is aimed at the conservation and sustainable development of the local environment and will include and consolidate emblematic municipal reserves such as “Las Piedras,” the “Floristic Park,” and the “Unzué Park.”
Objectives and Benefits of the Project
The central axis of the proposal is the protection of natural and cultural heritage. Its objectives include the protection of biodiversity, the promotion of sustainable development, the promotion of educational actions and environmental awareness, the promotion of necessary infrastructure, equipment, and human resources for the conservation, restoration, and scientific research of ecosystems, and the promotion of ecotourism, among others.
Implementation of the Municipal Park Rangers System
As part of the project, the Municipal Park Rangers System will be implemented for responsible management of resources, who will be the “custodians of the ecosystem.”
This system aims to position Gualeguaychú as a reference in environmental conservation, integrating efforts of public and private institutions along with the community. The goal is to promote a model of sustainable and eco-friendly tourism and to enhance commitment to the future.
