Honorary Wildlife Guardians from Río Negro launch campaign against wildlife trafficking.
The honorary wildlife guardians of Río Negro have announced on their social media a campaign to eradicate pet trade and the trafficking of animals belonging to wildlife.
Combatting the trafficking of protected species
Together with the Wildlife Directorate of the province and several NGOs, they are fighting against the trafficking of various protected species under Provincial Law No. 4,802.
Additionally, they aim to raise awareness among the population to prevent related crimes and promote the reporting of illegal possession of native fauna.
Quarantine and Rehabilitation Center
After multiple rescue operations, they have a quarantine and rehabilitation center where various seized species are recovered before being released back into their natural habitat.
Thanks to the group’s efforts, 277 yellow cardinals, a species at serious risk of extinction, have been reintroduced into nature.
Necessary financial support and how to collaborate
Financial support is crucial to continue this work properly. They request donations of $5,000, $10,000, and $15,000 to cover maintenance, logistics, and fuel expenses.
Those interested in supporting the campaign can make their donation to the CREDICOOP bank account, CBU 1910238055023801606532, or through the alias: GUARDA.FAUNAS.RN.
