In a landscape where the ocean and the steppe merge in perfect harmony, Isla Leones Camps emerges as an innovative proposal, destined to become a must-visit destination on the Blue Route. This complex, located a few kilometers from the town of Camarones, in Chubut, combines sustainable design and experiences that invite visitors to reconnect with nature.
The recent launch of Isla Leones Camps brought together about 30 people, including provincial authorities, representatives of tourism agencies from Puerto Madryn and Comodoro Rivadavia, and residents of Camarones. Among the attendees were Diego La Pena, Minister of Tourism, and Magalí Volpi, Undersecretary of Tourism.
During the event, guests toured the facilities and participated in a lunch where the impact of the Blue Route was discussed, an initiative aimed at highlighting the biodiversity and cultural heritage of the region. Mariana Cassini, Coordinator of Communities and Communication at Patagonia Azul, emphasized the importance of the meeting: “Each participant shared their vision on the potential of the Blue Route and the benefits it will bring to the province and the community.”
Those wishing to explore Isla Leones Camps should take into account certain practical aspects. Prior reservations are mandatory, and access is via provincial route N°1, a gravel road that does not require 4×4 vehicles, except in case of heavy rains. The complex is located 36 km from Camarones and 334 km from Puerto Madryn.

Isla Leones Camps, a place everyone should know
As expected in Chubut, the dry and windy climate, with summer temperatures ranging from 10 °C to 35 °C, makes the period from November to March the best time to visit. In addition to the climate, the place offers a sense of disconnection, as there is no phone signal, but there is internet connection in a common room for those who need it. Furthermore, the complex is powered by energy obtained through solar panels, so that visitors can enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay.
It also features architectural design that respects the environment, as the six cabins of the complex, built in wood and sheet metal, offer unparalleled views of the sea. In addition, the place’s barbecue area, called “El Golfo,” invites you to enjoy a gastronomy based on fresh seafood, while the bonfire becomes the center of gatherings at sunset.
The range of activities includes trekking, snorkeling, cycling, and sailing, always subject to weather conditions. These experiences allow visitors to connect with the wildlife and unique landscapes of the region.
A positive impact on the local community
Isla Leones Camps not only seeks to offer an exceptional tourist experience, but also to promote local development. The active participation of the Camarones community in its presentation underscores the inclusive nature of the project.
With initiatives like this, Patagonia Azul strengthens its position as a destination of excellence, where tourism and conservation intertwine to create unforgettable experiences in one of the most fascinating landscapes in Argentina.
“This venture promotes knowledge of the Argentine sea and generates local employment,” concluded Cassini.
