Manzanares: The town that seems to have stopped in time

Most read

Buenos Aires not only stands out for having one of the most well-known and busiest cities in the country, but it also has a large number of corners far from the big cities that offer tranquility and unique natural environments. An example of this is the town of Manzanares, a place that seems to have stopped in time.

This place preserves its peaceful rhythm, welcoming spirit, and small-town identity making it an ideal option for a short getaway, immersed in the middle of nature, enjoying the outdoors and local gastronomy.

Manzanares is located across from the Pilar Industrial Park, which may seem like a paradox, as the town preserves its rural identity with its natural landscapes that invite you to disconnect from the routine, despite the urban development in its surroundings.

One of the main attractions of the town is the small lagoon located on the banks of the Luján River, which offers the possibility of outdoor recreation, with picnics, kayaking, and recreational fishing allowing you to enjoy the native vegetation and fauna. A perfect choice for those looking to leave the routine behind, even if it’s for a few days.

Pilar Natural Reserve, a must-visit

The tranquility of the Luján River is not the only attraction of the town of Manzanares, as the Pilar Natural Reserve stands out as an option that nature lovers cannot miss. With its nearly 300 hectares protected in the Pampas ecosystem, this place becomes the perfect spot for birdwatching and observing wildlife, offering.

But you can also take advantage of Pilar Park, located within the Carlos Pellegrini Institute, which features a forest with centuries-old trees, ideal for hiking and outdoor activities.

How to get to Manzanares?

Manzanares is one of those Buenos Aires towns that combine rural tranquility with excellent connectivity, making it an increasingly popular destination for weekend getaways or even living.

Located just 70 kilometers from the capital, the car trip can be done in less than an hour, taking the Pan-American Highway and its connection to National Route 8. Additionally, it can be reached by bus, with a similar travel time, which is ideal for those who prefer not to drive.

Surrounded by gated communities, productive fields, and an active community, Manzanares maintains its spirit of a quiet town, with friendly streets to walk and green spaces that invite rest.
