Chile stands out as one of the favorite destinations for Argentinians during the summer, thanks to its proximity and affordable options. Within its wide range of tourist offerings, coastal towns usually attract great attention, but there are less crowded places that offer tranquility and beauty, perfect for those seeking to escape the crowds.

Puertecillo, a picturesque town located in the O’Higgins region, combines the serenity of the sea with the possibility of practicing water sports. This destination is divided into three geographical sectors, each with particular characteristics that make it unique.

In the northern sector, rock formations and a chapel built in memory of the ship “Marbella,” which shipwrecked in the area, stand out. In addition, the Polcura estuary, which occasionally stagnates on the beach, creates a freshwater lagoon where angling is common.

The central sector houses most of the town’s infrastructure. Here you can find homes of artisanal fishermen, restaurants, shops, hostels, and cabins for visitors. Along the only paved street, equipped with sidewalks and lighting, you can also find summer residences and a local school.

In the southern sector, the natural environment and the constant waves make it a favorite among water sports enthusiasts. This area borders the Topocalma Estate, a space dedicated to forestry exploitation.

Additionally, the area known as El Rincón offers services such as camping areas, a pub, play areas, and a surf school, along with natural attractions such as La Cueva del Chivato, a cave formed between the rocks.
