Most read

Many Argentinians choose to spend their holidays in Florianópolis this summer. The city in the southern region of Brazil has more than 100 beaches on the mainland and also on its large island, Santa Catarina.

Additionally, there are other small islets, covering over 674 square meters of land, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

According to data from the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism, the state of Santa Catarina recorded a 71.7% increase in international tourists, especially in the capital.

If the number of beaches is vast, here is a selection of five beaches to visit during your trip to Florianópolis.

Five beaches to visit on your vacation in Florianópolis

1- Joaquina Beach
Located on the eastern part of Santa Catarina Island, about 15 kilometers from downtown Florianópolis. It is a traditional meeting point for those seeking strong and long waves for surfing.

It is also surrounded by beautiful sand dunes and also has three beach tennis courts.

2- Campeche Beach and Island

In this neighborhood is Campeche Beach and, right in front, the island with the same name. It is ideal for a family vacation: with a wide expanse of golden sand and crystal clear, usually very calm waters.

It is also ideal for kitesurfing, hiking, and walks, such as visiting the island with the same name located in front.

Regarding the island, it is a true treasure of transparent waters, with pristine beaches and a rich diversity of fauna and flora. Beyond its natural beauty, Campeche harbors an invaluable archaeological heritage.

Well-preserved rock inscriptions narrate the prehistoric history of the region, and the trails to explore these sites are only accessible with authorized guides, for a fee. This system ensures the preservation of this cultural legacy.

3- Mole Beach

Located in the beautiful neighborhood of Lagoa da Conceição, also on the eastern part of the main island, it stretches along almost 1000 meters. It is characterized by its soft and fine sand.

Its crystal clear and clean waters also have good waves for surfing, attracting young people from all over and being very popular.

4- Lagoinha do Leste

Located in the southeast of Santa Catarina Island. It is an option for those who want to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy adventure to reach a special place.

To get there, you have to walk at least 3 kilometers from Pântano do Sul beach or 4.5 kilometers from Morro da Coroa, as explained on the local tourism website.

5- Santo Antonio de Lisboa

One of the oldest villages in Florianópolis. Facing the mainland, it is a “north bay” beach, with very calm waters. It retains traces of the Portuguese colonization of the region and a fishing village.

The sandy beach is 750 meters long and is surrounded by colorful centuries-old houses. There, you can find craft shops and good seafood restaurants.
