Lanús Government, through Mayor Julián Álvarez, is working on the city’s cleanup with the Civil Socio-Cultural, Sports, and Commercial Association of Chinese Citizens of Lanús. Represented by its president Yi Huang, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding. In this context, the entity donated 160 ecological garbage containers to contribute to the cleanliness of the blocks where supermarkets linked to that community are operating.

The agreement, which took place in Eva Perón Municipal Park (Salta and Córdoba, Remedios de Escalada), aims to strengthen the sense of belonging of the association members with the city and to reaffirm their commitment to city cleanliness and the improvement of the physical environment.

“With great pride and enthusiasm, we will work together to create a cleaner and more habitable environment in our beloved city of Lanús,” said Julián Álvarez.

Likewise, the document strengthens the economic and social projection of the merchants who, in their free time, formed volunteer teams to eliminate weeds and maintain hygiene on the streets near their premises.

Among the main subscribed pillars are the realization of an updated survey and the development of a joint work plan to frame the sector’s reality and project an adequate legal framework. In addition, training will be provided to employees on hygiene, waste management, handling of goods, and storage, among other topics.

On the other hand, the association will maintain the public space lawn on both sides of the block where each store is located. It will also place a garbage container (with a capacity of between 600 to 700 liters, high-density polyethylene, lid, and wheels) to dispose of waste generated during daily activities. The bin must be operational during opening hours and can also be used by neighbors.
