The Municipality of Tolhuin started an eviction operation at the Termas del Río Valdez, known as the End of the World, an emblematic site in Tierra del Fuego that had been abandoned for over two decades due to a conflict with a concessionaire company.
The takeover of the place comes after an irreversible judicial ruling in favor of the Municipality, which now begins a process of revaluing the site.
## Judicial Ruling
The Superior Court of Justice issued a unanimous ruling on October 16, ending more than two decades of legal dispute over the 400-hectare property that the company Transportes Roanmat SRL had under its custody.
The justice ordered the eviction of Roanmat SRL and any other occupant, returning the lands to the municipal administration. The decision was described as a “milestone” in the history of Tolhuin.

## Revitalization and Tourism at the End of the World Hot Springs
The recovery of the thermal complex marks the beginning of a process to enhance its value and offer it as a recreational space for the development of health tourism.
The Tourism Department of Tolhuin considers that the Río Valdez Hot Springs are not only part of the natural heritage but also a driver of tourism development that will reposition Tolhuin on the national and international map.
Despite the satisfaction of reclaiming the site, the state of the property is uncertain due to the long years of neglect and the harsh climate. Once the eviction is carried out, a team from the municipality will enter to conduct an initial inventory and assess the conditions of the existing structures.
