The Austral Business Park will be the first of its kind to operate with 100% renewable energy.

On the occasion of the World Environment Day, the Austral Business Park (PEA) announced a strategic agreement with Energeia, a company specialized in renewable energy sources.

Thanks to this alliance, the PEA will become the first scientific and technological business park in Argentina to operate with 100% renewable electricity supply.

Environmental Impact and Economic Benefits

The agreement, with an initial duration of 12 months, ensures the supply of 800,000 annual kW coming exclusively from non-polluting resources.

This transition will allow more than 90 companies established in the park to:

  • Reduce their carbon footprint.
  • Optimize energy costs by replacing the consumption of fossil fuels.
  • Advance in the implementation of responsible production models.

“The signing of this agreement is a source of pride for our team. It represents the result of a constant commitment to sustainability and consolidates us as leaders in the sector, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda”, expressed Belén Aliciardi, specialist in Environmental Law and ESG leader at the PEA.

Energeia’s Commitment to Renewable Energy

On the other hand, Mauricio Roitman, CEO of Energeia, highlighted the relevance of the initiative: “We are very satisfied to contribute to making the Austral Business Park more sustainable, promoting the use of renewable energy. With this project, companies will reduce their environmental impact and, at the same time, optimize operational costs. That is our purpose”.

PEA: a Model of Development with Positive Impact

Since its creation in 2006, the Austral Business Park promotes a growth model based on:

  • Corporate sustainability.
  • Linkage with local communities.
  • Technological and scientific development.
  • Responsible use of natural resources.

The PEA maintains an active ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) policy, aimed at promoting corporate ethics, inclusion, and sustainable transformation.

The Meaning of World Environment Day

Every 5th of June, since 1973, the World Environment Day is celebrated, promoted by the United Nations (UN).

This date seeks to raise awareness about the most urgent challenges in environmental matters, including:

  • Climate change.
  • Biodiversity loss.
  • Pollution.
  • Responsible management of natural resources.

In 2025, the celebration will focus on the fight against plastic pollution, a problem that affects human health, wildlife, and global ecosystems.

With this alliance, PEA and Energeia reinforce their commitment to environmental preservation, demonstrating that sustainable energy transition is possible and necessary.
