In the framework of the Selva Paranaense Vida Nativa project, the organization Nideport develops a comprehensive environmental education program with strong territorial articulation. The initiative involves schools, local and indigenous communities, aiming to promote the conservation of the Atlantic Forest and strengthen environmental risk prevention.
The approach is based on community collaborative learning, where environmental education is built alongside teachers, students, neighbors, and community leaders.
Workshops, meetings, and donations
Among the highlighted actions:
- Workshops in rural schools and open meetings in communities to train in environmental care, ecological restoration, and climate change.
- Donation of equipment and laboratory supplies to the technical secondary school of Cruce Caballero, from where water and soil analyses are conducted to detect possible contaminations related to deforestation and intensive use of agrochemicals.
- Educational field visits with students from tertiary-level environmental careers, who learn about conservation work and can project professional practices in protected jungle areas.
Science, technology, and ancestral knowledge
The program combines advanced technology and scientific training with the traditional knowledge of local communities.
- Nideport provides technical equipment, monitoring tools, and training.
- The communities share knowledge about jungle cycles, biodiversity, cultural practices, and harmonious coexistence with the environment.
This work is carried out jointly with the mbyá guaraní communities, especially with Tekoa Alecrín, close to the Vida Nativa project.
Prevention of forest fires
The program includes specific training for neighbors and local actors in:
- Early risk detection.
- Responsible land use.
- Protection of native forest.
These actions are complemented by the use of sensors, drones, and real-time monitoring systems, reinforcing environmental security in the region.
A long-term vision
