The Municipality of Salta, together with the “Matías Nicolás Mancilla” Adoption Center, launched an original initiative to promote responsible adoption: a World Cup sticker album featuring street dogs. Each sticker includes a photo, name, age, size, and a specially created “team” to identify them.
The proposal went viral on social media, generating positive comments and sparking the interest of many users in adopting. “You can’t miss this album. Maybe among these stickers is that companion who will change your life forever,” the institutions pointed out when presenting the campaign.
Context of the adoption center
The facility has between 60 and 70 kennels, all occupied, which reinforces the need to promote adoption to free up space and allow new rescues.
The center clarifies that it does not function as a shelter to leave pets, but is exclusively for dogs rescued from the streets.

Benefits of responsible adoption
- Social impact: reduces the number of animals on the street, improving public health and road safety.
- Integral well-being: living with a dog reduces stress and the feeling of loneliness, providing physical and emotional benefits.
- Second chance: rescued dogs tend to be loyal and grateful, quickly adapting to family life.
- Education in values: teaches respect, empathy, and care for other living beings, especially to the younger ones.
Keys to responsible care
- Spaying and health: essential to avoid indiscriminate reproduction and prevent diseases.
- Long-term commitment: involves providing adequate food, exercise, hygiene, and veterinary care throughout their life.
- Time and dedication: adopting means integrating the dog as a family member, with routines and constant affection.
Platforms to adopt in Argentina
- Red Mascotas GCBA: for local adoptions and foster homes in Buenos Aires.
- Adoptar.com.ar: connects with NGOs, shelters, and rescuers in different provinces.
- Municipal centers: like the one in Salta, promoting creative and educational campaigns.
The World Cup sticker campaign in Salta demonstrates how creativity can become a powerful tool to raise awareness about responsible adoption.
Beyond the virality on social media, the initiative seeks to transform the lives of rescued dogs and the families who decide to open their homes to them. Adopting not only saves lives but also builds more supportive communities aware of animal welfare.
