“Nature: The Great Puzzle”: A New Audiovisual Course to Learn About Biodiversity from Childhood

Fundación Ambiente y Medio and Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina present Nature: the great puzzle, a new audiovisual proposal to learn about biodiversity from Ecoaula Digital aimed at bringing biodiversity closer to children, teachers, and families through a clear, dynamic, and approachable language.

The course proposes a journey through different landscapes of Argentina to discover how biodiversity works and understand that in nature, everything is connected. Over five chapters, the journey takes us through the city, the jungle, and the sea, to understand that each species, each environment, and each natural resource plays a role within a vast web of life.

With a visual and accessible narrative, Nature: the great puzzle seeks to spark curiosity, promote observation of the environment, and strengthen the connection with nature through everyday examples and experiences close to children’s lives.

The chapters address topics such as urban biodiversity, the different levels of the Misiones Jungle, the depths of the Argentine Sea, and the importance of human actions in caring for natural environments. The proposal focuses on understanding the environment, inviting recognition that small actions can also help maintain the balance of nature.

Martín Font, Director of Communication and Environmental Education at Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina, commented: “At Vida Silvestre, we are convinced that you cannot value or protect what you do not know, and that is why when the opportunity arose to work together with Fundación Ambiente y Medio on this initiative, we did not hesitate. Solving environmental problems requires a profound cultural change. Starting to value our natural resources, the sustenance of life on the planet and development possibilities, must be a priority for our society. And in this sense, we understand environmental education as the foundation of this change, as our main tool to promote a change in the way we relate to the environment.”

Luciana Dorigo, Executive Director of Fundación Ambiente y Medio and coordinator of Ecoaula Digital, added: “This course was born from a real educational experience in a kindergarten classroom. Inspired by a teacher’s work and the children’s enthusiasm for nature, we understood that there was a huge opportunity to transform that curiosity into a quality educational tool. This reinforces our conviction that the best content does not emerge from an office meeting but from what happens every day in classrooms. Listening to those who teach, understanding what they need, and offering them reliable, accessible resources designed for their everyday reality is a fundamental part of what we seek to do from Ecoaula Digital.”

The course is already available at www.ecoauladigital.org and on the YouTube channel of Fundación Ambiente y Medio.
