On Thursday, during the XXII ordinary session of the Deliberative Council, the project presented by the councilors of Together for Entre Ríos that creates the “Protected Natural Areas System” was approved.

This system proposes that municipal domain properties and privately owned properties that are incorporated through agreements with their owners be considered protected natural areas. The program is aimed at the conservation and sustainable development of the local environment and will include and consolidate emblematic municipal reserves such as “Las Piedras”, the “Floristic Park”, and the “Unzué Park”.

Project Objectives and Benefits

The central axis of the proposal is the protection of natural and cultural heritage. Its objectives include biodiversity protection, promoting sustainable development, promoting educational actions and environmental awareness, promoting the necessary infrastructure, equipment, and human resources for conservation, restoration, and scientific research of ecosystems, and promoting ecotourism, among others.

Implementation of the Municipal Park Rangers System

As part of the project, the Municipal Park Rangers System will be implemented for responsible resource management, who will be the “ecosystem custodians”.

This system aims to position Gualeguaychú as a reference in environmental conservation, integrating efforts of public and private institutions alongside the community. The goal is to promote a sustainable and eco-friendly tourism model and to enhance commitment to the future.
