The Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of **Entre Ríos**, Raúl Boc-Hó, highlighted the work accomplished during 2024 by the Directorate of Natural Resources and Inspection. In one year, more than 70,000 meters of **illegal fishing nets** were confiscated, and over 200 animals were **released back into their habitats**.
Synergistic Work and Social Collaboration
“I mainly highlight the **synergistic work**, in which agents from various provincial government agencies are involved. In addition, there is a commitment from other institutions that take on the challenge of caring, preserving, and thinking of solutions to **protect the fauna, flora, and natural resources** of our province,” emphasized Boc-Hó.
This is complemented by **social collaboration** from neighbors, companies, schools, reserves, which actively participate in protecting resources.
Promotion and Action in Resource Care
Promoting, encouraging, and taking action in **caring for our resources** is the task of all residents of Entre Ríos, regardless of their role or social status.
“Our identity is shaped by the landscapes, the greenery, the Delta, fishing, the rivers. And caring for each of these resources is keeping our identity alive,” added the Secretary.
Joint Activity and Training
On the other hand, the Director of Natural Resources and Inspection, Marcelo Sapetti, stated: “We have had a year with a lot of joint activity, where both those who carry out inspection tasks on the road, for example, and those who are responsible for establishing contact with the reserve in the final stage to **release an endangered species** play an equally important role.”
Results Obtained:
- Over 70,000 meters of fishing nets seized for non-compliance with Fishing Law No. 4,892.
- More than 250 animals recovered and released back into their habitats.
- Over 600 security forces agents trained as honorary game wardens.
- 193 violation reports in inspection procedures in fishing activities and approximately 500 violation reports of Provincial Hunting Law No. 4,841.
Over 150 meat inspection procedures carried out jointly with the Rural Crime Prevention Police of Entre Ríos.
Biodiversity Projects and Sampling
Additionally, **biodiversity samplings** were conducted in the Lower Delta of the Paraná River in a joint effort with Conicet and the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Autonomous University of Entre Ríos (Uader); and a survey of **fishery resources** through the participation of the National Project for Biological and Fisheries Assessment of Species of Sporting and Commercial Interest (Ebipes) in the Paraná River.
Meetings and Collaborative Projects
Ongoing meetings with **fishing guides** and issuance of permits to artisanal fishermen maintained direct participation with the Continental Fishing Committee. Meetings were held with municipalities, the coastal region, and Conicet Diamante in the Aquaculture Project. There was also interaction with Active Tourism and the presentation of the book “Entre Ríos, paradise of wild birds.”
The work of this Directorate is achieved with the participation of the Entre Ríos Police, National Gendarmerie, Argentine Naval Prefecture, Rural Crime Prevention Brigade, provincial shelters and reserves that provide their personnel and space for the care and **release of birds or other animal species**.
