Former councilwoman Mónica Feyt filed a complaint against a pesticide company that plans to settle in the Urdinarrain Industrial Park (Entre Ríos) due to possible pollution in the Gualeguaychú river.
The Honorable Deliberative Council approved the sale of the land through an exception for this purpose. Despite the approval, the corresponding authorization is still pending, and a public hearing will be held on Wednesday regarding this matter.
Location and Complaint
According to Feyt, the company, whose installation has been approved by the local Deliberative Council, is located in the hydrographic basin of the Salinas Stream in Urdinarrain, a tributary of the Gato Stream that flows into the Gualeguaychú river.
The project belongs to Agricultores Federados Argentinos S.C.L., aimed at general services of grain and agricultural inputs storage, deposit, and commercialization. The former councilwoman mentioned that the company has been accused of polluting the river.
Land Sale and Public Hearing
Surprisingly, the Urdinarrain Deliberative Council approved the sale of the land to the company through an exception.
This Wednesday, a public hearing will take place, and the final approval is pending from the Municipal Executive, as reported by Máxima Online portal.
