The Argentine Circle of Security is organizing a Diploma in Animal Rescue Protocols, inviting animal protection representatives from the animal protection sector in the Santa Fe region to participate as teachers and trainers, with the support of the Municipality of Funes.
It is aimed at security forces personnel, lawyers, veterinarians, public employees, legislators, firefighters, rescuers, and volunteers.
The main objective of the initiative is to provide training in basic knowledge about rescues and procedures with animals, their legal and technical approach, current environmental issues and biodiversity protection, and the design and management of efficient public policies.
A well-informed society is needed, as well as social actors committed to these new protection and conservation paradigms, personnel from the relevant agencies capable of solving various issues.
Animal rescue and rehabilitation in Funes
“We know that there is a national animal protection law in Argentina, but many do not know how to report, and it also happens that many police officers, when faced with a report, do not know how to act, even though it is their professional obligation to intervene in cases of animal abuse. The same happens with municipalities that are unaware of their fundamental role in prevention,” stated for Noticias Ambientales, Aranza Puig, Coordinator of the Animal Health area of the Municipality of Funes.
“It is necessary to provide legal and procedural tools to all social actors: from the average citizen to the official who must act by drafting a judicial document, filing a report, drafting a municipal ordinance, handling a rescued animal, transporting it, etc.,” added the official.
- Improvement in procedures: Acquisition of updated knowledge and techniques to optimize interventions in their municipalities and surrounding areas.
- Comprehensive security: Learning Protocols that protect both animals and those involved.
- Legal framework: Understanding current regulations to act with support and effectiveness in the field.
- Coordinated work: Strengthening collaboration among the different forces, institutions, and personnel involved in the region.
- Public Policies: Knowing and being able to implement different ethical and effective state health and animal protection strategies and plans, feasible to implement in any municipality or district.
The idea is to professionalize the social actors involved in the various animal rescue and protection processes.
“We have been implementing public animal protection policies for almost 20 years, resulting in the design of procedures and protocols for coordination between different agencies, and their main characteristic is the high level of social participation,” highlighted Aranza Puig.
The aim is to make training accessible to everyone.
