Ten universities in Mendoza have joined forces to promote sustainability in the academic field, revitalizing the Pollinator Agreement and strengthening the environmental commitment in the region.

Through the Beehive Action program, these institutions aim to generate concrete and collaborative actions to promote sustainability in the community of Mendoza.

Education and environmental management

Universities have incorporated sustainability as a cross-cutting axis in their institutional management, focusing on:

  • Creation of specialized units, such as environmental commissions and sustainability study centers.
  • Academic training, integrating content on climate change, sustainable development, and environmental responsibility in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Energy efficiency and waste management, implementing renewable energies, reducing plastics, and sustainable campus models.

Networks and international articulation

The institutions collaborate with various organizations that promote environmental education, including:

  • MetaredS (Universia).
  • Red UAGAIS (Argentinian Universities for Environmental Management and Social Inclusion).
  • Ariusa (Ibero-American Networks of Universities for Sustainability and the Environment).
