Soon, the province of San Juan will see Circunvalación Avenue with solar panels. A historic reform will take place in which the lighting source will be modified.

For this, two calls were made: one for the purchase of equipment and another for the installation of the devices.

Among the five companies that submitted proposals for the purchase, the supplier Multiradio SA, based in Buenos Aires, won.

Circunvalación Avenue with solar panels: how the transformation will be

In the Price Contest launched by Provincial Energy State Society (EPSE) in September of last year, the provision of equipment was sought.

It was for On Grid Photovoltaic Solar Generators intended for the supply of renewable energy and self-consumption of the lighting system on Circunvalación Avenue.

The provincial government entrusted EPSE with this project. According to reports, it represents an unprecedented milestone on national roads. A total of $181,820 from local funds were allocated for this purchase.

With this project, the aim is to make this artery the first 100% renewable national road in the country, through the installation of 36 solar systems of 5 kilowatts each. It is estimated that the annual savings in traditional energy will be around $30,000, as officially reported.

Five companies submitted bids. In addition to Multiradio SA, New Green SRL, Alade Construcciones SRL, Lumager Energía SAS, and BGH SA showed interest.

After analyzing the offers, the provision was awarded to Multiradio. EPSE justified their choice by presenting the best economic proposal along with compliance with technical specifications.

The other fundamental part of this project is related to the installation. EPSE has just opened a tender for the installation of the panels, as reported.

Offers will be accepted until March 11, 2025 at the Corporate Building of the company located in Pocito. The envelope opening will take place on the same day.

The idea is to start the work in April, with a 120 calendar days period to be completed from the signing of the work commencement certificate. This means they could be estimated to be ready by August.

The total estimated budget for the construction works is $1,667,662,565.20. Each section is estimated at $416,915,641.30.
