Yesterday, Banco de Bosques fulfilled the commitment made in the public announcement made together with Governor Carlos Sadir on April 22nd on the occasion of Earth Day, and in writing on September 7th with the signing of a document held at the same Las Lauras estate, where the objective of the donation of 15,000 hectares to Jujuy from the Las Lauras estate in that province was established in order to dedicate it to conservation and sustainable economic development through tourism.
Furthermore, the objective is to create a conservation unit as it borders the El Rey National Park in the province of Salta, an area known for its extraordinary biodiversity.
Last year, Banco de Bosques and Vision Net Zero from Germany managed to purchase the property thanks to a carbon footprint offset project.
The commitment was that the project should include the donation of the property for conservation, tourism, and sustainable development with an impact on local employment.
Last April, on Earth Day, the governor, Banco de Bosques, and Vision Net Zero made the public announcement, then in September the commitment was signed, and finally, the donation was made yesterday.
