Alertas por tormentas severas y granizo en Mendoza, San Luis, Córdoba y La Pampa: SMN advierte ráfagas y 20-45 mm de lluvia
The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued yellow alerts for adverse weather conditions for this Monday. According to Diario El Norte, various areas in four Argentine provinces could face severe storms and hail throughout the day.
The warnings apply to vast regions of Mendoza, San Luis, Córdoba, and La Pampa, where a notable deterioration of atmospheric conditions is anticipated.
The official report highlights that these areas will experience varied meteorological phenomena, accompanied by frequent electrical activity, occasional hail, and gusts that could pose significant risks for circulation and outdoor activities.
Accumulated precipitation is expected to range between 20 and 45 millimeters, with possible peaks in specific areas due to more intense storm cells.
In Mendoza, the alert mostly covers the eastern and pre-mountain areas, where the arrival of humid and unstable air will promote the rapid development of large vertical clouds.
In San Luis, the focus is on the southern and central departments, known for their sensitivity to the sudden arrival of strong gusts and localized hail.
Meanwhile, in Córdoba, meteorological authorities warn that the southern and southwestern areas will be the first affected by storm fronts, especially towards the afternoon and evening.
Finally, the north and west of La Pampa are also under warning, with forecasts of intense rains in short periods.
In response to these unstable conditions, civil defense authorities and emergency agencies have advised citizens to take extreme precautions in public spaces.
Recommendations include avoiding shelter under trees or poles, securing objects that could be lifted by the wind, and avoiding traveling through flooded areas during the storm.
Conditions are expected to gradually improve towards the early hours of the morning as the frontal system moves eastward across the country.
