A notorious cold front is moving into the Mar del Plata region, bringing with it a winter climate. This Friday, the city will witness a predominantly sunny sky in the early hours of the day, favoring brief outings.
However, the strength of the wind will make the environment feel cooler, limiting outdoor comfort. As night approaches, clouds will begin to accumulate.
Weather in Mar del Plata and the Port area
Maximum temperatures will reach 13°C during the afternoon, while the southwest wind, with gusts of up to 17 mph, will amplify the feeling of cold. Although the morning will be clear, cloudiness will progressively increase, covering the sky by dawn.
The cold air mass will impact not only the coast but also the Port, causing more intense waves. In inland areas like Sierra de los Padres and Batán, isolated frosts are expected in the early hours of the day, requiring residents to bundle up well.
Weather conditions on the Atlantic Coast
Although there are no weather alerts for the General Pueyrredón district, the persistent southwest wind will keep the waters choppy, prompting authorities to advise caution for smaller vessels.
This pattern will be replicated in neighboring towns like Miramar, Mar Chiquita, and Villa Gesell, with sunny mornings and an increase in clouds towards dusk, though without significant precipitation.
For the weekend, the polar air is expected to continue influencing the entire coastal region. Minimum temperatures will remain low, reinforcing the perfect winter atmosphere for enjoying indoor outings and local cultural activities.
The wind will slightly change direction, gradually reducing the strong coastal gusts.
