The Ocean Film Festival World Tour lands for the first time in Buenos Aires as part of the first edition of Sudamérica Salvaje Fest 2026. A new cultural event that aims to put nature at the center of the conversation.
With an international selection of films about marine life, adventure, and conservation, the proposal invites diverse audiences to reconnect with the natural world through cinema and shared experiences.
International Programming
In its 13th edition, the festival began in March in Australia and New Zealand, with great public response, and will tour countries such as Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, the United States, and the United Kingdom, now adding Argentina.
The selection of films includes:
- The Raftsmen: oceanic journey reconstructed with restored material.
- The Kelp Collector: observation and preservation of seaweed.
- Stone Biter: Saving the Arctic Sea Forests: restoration of underwater forests in the Arctic.
- A Dragon’s Dance: dedicated to a singular ocean creature.
- TAINÁ: about Brazilian surfer Tainá Hinckel.
- Antártida: Dominio 1: Argentine production by Gauchos del Mar, narrated by Ricardo Darín, focusing on the fragility of the Antarctic territory.

Talks and Environmental Awareness
The festival will be complemented by a day of free talks on June 3rd, promoted together with Sin Azul No Hay Verde (SANHV), aimed at raising awareness about the conservation of the Argentine Sea. Specialists, organizations, and leaders will participate, sharing experiences and debates about the challenges of protecting our marine ecosystems.
On June 4th, the festival will screen Argentine titles and films selected by Jackson Wild, one of the most recognized international references in nature, science, and conservation cinema.
Beyond Cinema: Conservation Experiences
Sudamérica Salvaje Fest is not limited to screenings. It will also include conservation initiatives, such as a reforestation action with ReforestArg, an organization dedicated to planting native trees and restoring ecosystems.
With this first edition, Sudamérica Salvaje Fest begins to build a space where cinema, nature, and culture meet in an accessible and meaningful way. The arrival of the Ocean Film Festival World Tour in Buenos Aires marks a cultural and environmental milestone, offering a unique opportunity to reconnect with the ocean and reflect on the need to protect it.
