The Ministry of Public Space and Urban Hygiene of the City of Buenos Aires has completed the installation of **new lighting technology** in all the shelters of the **Metrobus network** and transfer centers in Buenos Aires.

Real-time monitoring technology

This system allows for **real-time monitoring** of the electrical system of the shelters, reducing maintenance costs and downtime. Thus, it ensures that the shelters remain in optimal conditions and well-lit, creating **safer environments** for nearly a million daily users.

Minister’s statements

Ignacio Baistrocchi, Minister of Public Space and Urban Hygiene, explained: “The remote management of the Metrobus lighting helps us quickly detect any inconvenience, solve it, and maintain the space where neighbors and visitors wait for the bus in good conditions. Our priority is for the city to have a **clean, orderly, and safe public space**. This modernization allows us to arrive earlier and be more efficient in maintenance.”

This year, the ministry completed the installation of the Telegestion System in 190 shelters spread across the different Metrobus routes and in the **transfer centers in Buenos Aires**, reaching a total of 328 equipped shelters, representing 100% of the shelters under maintenance in the city.

Operation of the Telegestion System

Implemented two years ago, this technology has been essential for detecting **issues such as lack of lighting**, voltage variations, and power failures. It allows for quick intervention, improving nighttime visibility and creating **safer urban environments**.

The “Dashboard Controller” is the main component of the system, which collects and sends data to the central server, processed and displayed on a web application. Peripheral elements such as auxiliary dashboard keys, **communication antennas, GPS**, and surge protectors, among others, complement the system. When a failure is detected, qualified personnel are dispatched to the site to repair it.

Comprehensive maintenance of the Metrobus

The Telegestion System is part of a comprehensive maintenance plan throughout the Metrobus network. In 2024, the following interventions have been carried out:
– **Lighting:** 5,877 luminaires replaced, improving visibility and safety in the shelters.
– **Protective glass:** Replacement of 555 m² of glass on roofs, walls, and cornices to protect users from various weather conditions.
– **Seats and trash cans:** Replacement and installation of 208 seats and 241 new trash cans in various sections of the network, providing a cleaner, more organized, and comfortable environment.

Improvements in the southern area

This year’s maintenance program also included improvements in the branches of **Metrobus Roca** and Fernández de la Cruz, as well as the enhancement of the Sáenz Transfer Center, with the installation of anti-vandal systems on dashboards, **recovery of lighting** in shelters affected by vandalism, and replacement of railings and protective barriers to protect the infrastructure.
