Parque Nacional Perito Moreno
On July 17, the comprehensive ecotourism management system was launched at Perito Moreno National Park (Santa Cruz).
The initiative will be implemented by the Fundación Banco de Bosques, with authorization from the National Parks Administration (APN), and constitutes the first non-profit tourism concession within the national system of protected areas.
The event took place at the Patagonia store in Buenos Aires, with the participation of APN authorities such as Pablo Ciocchini, Juan Filgueira Risso, Guillermo Díaz Cornejo, and Javier Fernández, along with the president of Banco de Bosques, Pedro Friedrich, and its executive director, Emiliano Ezcurra.
The management model includes:
Sergio Álvarez, president of National Parks: “This new online reservation system is part of an innovative approach that will boost sustainable tourism in remote areas. It is a technological tool that facilitates the planning of memorable journeys”.
Emiliano Ezcurra, executive director of Banco de Bosques: “Conservation needs collaborative models. This project demonstrates that it is possible to combine responsible tourism, conservation, and efficient resource management”.
The agreement requires compliance with:
Perito Moreno National Park is one of the most remote and least intervened destinations in the protected areas system. This scheme seeks to consolidate its tourism offer, improve the visitor experience, and ensure that conservation remains the central focus.
The new ecotourism system of Perito Moreno National Park marks a milestone in the management of protected areas in Argentina. By combining technological innovation, private investment, and environmental commitment, it opens a path for sustainable tourism to become a driver of conservation and local development.
