Only 122 kilometers away from Córdoba Capital, in the middle of the mountains, there is a hidden village that is a true natural treasure. The crystal-clear waters and movie-like landscapes invite you to spend days of tranquility, very close to the city.
This is San Miguel de los Ríos, a corner that stands out despite being hidden from most tourists. Now, with the arrival of summer and warmer temperatures, the mountains of the province appear as the ideal refuge.
This is San Miguel de los Ríos, the hidden village
In the heart of Yacanto, among white and black carob trees, talas, and piquillines, San Miguel de los Ríos appears to the southwest of the Calamuchita Valley.
It is home to many native flora species. One of its main attractions is the Tabaquillo River, which runs through the entire town, offering unique postcards.
The golden color gives it a very particular identity, as well as the lushness of the accompanying trees.
The three waterfalls and must-see spots in the village
The Cordoban town has a must-see attraction for anyone who visits: the Three Waterfalls.
It is the waterfall that occurs from the collision of the Tabaquillo rivers with the stone walls, allowing the formation of a huge natural and untouched pool.
You can also visit the ruins of the Jesuit Estancia San Ignacio, the only Jesuit estancia that was not recognized by UNESCO due to its poor conservation.
San Miguel de los Ríos: where to stay
Although the town is usually chosen only for a day trip, there are also places to stay and rest. The local campsite is one of them.
How to get to San Miguel de los Ríos.
Located in an elevated part of the village, with unmissable views of the Tabaquillo River, it has space for about 90 people and an extensive field.
