To facilitate the adoption of this technology, the Government of Gustavo Petro and the Comfama compensation fund have launched subsidies and credit lines for households in strata 1, 2, and 3 to access solar panels without high costs.
### Line of credit for remodeling homes and installing solar panels
The National Savings Fund (FNA) has enabled a specific line of credit for vulnerable families to improve their homes with the installation of solar panels.
Some key aspects of the financing:
– Estimated investment range: between 10 and 20 million Colombian pesos.
– Accessible for affiliates with severance pay or voluntary savings.
– Favorable interest rates, starting at 10% effective annual rate for households with incomes of up to two Minimum Legal Monthly Wages (SMLMV).
This allows more people to access renewable energies without facing prohibitive financial barriers.
### Comfama subsidy for solar energy in Antioquia
The Comfama compensation fund is currently the only entity in Colombia that offers a solar energy kit for families to transform their homes into more sustainable spaces.
To access the benefit, requirements include:
– Being affiliated with Comfama with incomes below 4 SMLMV.
– Living in Antioquia, in own or family-owned housing.
– Having a roof or terrace in good condition for installation.
– Internal electrical network in adequate conditions.
– Minimum energy consumption of 60 KW/hr/month in the last six months.
– Active email for contact and processing of the procedure.
This subsidy does not apply to rental properties, in risk areas, or within horizontal properties where the roof is for common use.
