The chosen one by the Argentines: the perfect natural refuge for those seeking a little warmth in winter

Among green cliffs and golden sands, Praia do Rosa establishes itself as an ideal destination for those seeking to escape mass tourism and connect with nature. This bay located in Santa Catarina, in the south of Brazil, offers a combination of tranquility, adventure, and wildlife, making it a magnet for Argentine tourists during the winter.

Its bohemian identity, along with a quality gastronomic offer and rustic yet comfortable accommodations, attracts families, surfers, and travelers looking for authentic experiences. The natural environment, dominated by trails, lagoons, and pristine beaches, is protected by ecotourism and environmental education initiatives.

One of the highlights of this season is the possibility of spotting southern right whales from the coast. These marine giants arrive between July and October, providing a unique spectacle in one of the few places in the world where they can be seen from the beach without the need for boats.

A Journey to Biodiversity

Praia do Rosa is located in the municipality of Imbituba, 90 kilometers from Florianópolis and less than 400 from Porto Alegre. Its location in an ecological transition zone gives it exceptional biodiversity, resulting from the encounter between lagoons, sea, forests, and rocky areas.

To get there, flying to Florianópolis airport and renting a vehicle is the most recommended option, allowing you to explore the surroundings freely. It can also be accessed by road, taking the BR-101 highway and then secondary roads leading to the coast, some of them with gravel stretches.

Although there is public transportation from Garopaba and Imbituba, the frequency is limited, so many tourists opt for private transfers. This favors a more controlled flow of visitors, contributing to the care of the environment without saturating local resources.

Whales, Trails, and Seafood Gastronomy

During winter, this natural refuge turns into a perfect setting to enjoy contact with nature. Walks to solitary beaches like Praia Vermelha or natural pools among rocks allow for a deep disconnection from urban rhythms. The more active can practice surfing, kitesurfing, or kayaking on Ibiraquera Lagoon.

Whale watching is the highlight of this season. Visitors can combine this experience with talks and activities organized by conservation entities, promoting respect for marine fauna. Thus, whale watching also becomes a learning opportunity.

In the afternoons, the town fills with scents of the sea and spices. Restaurants offer dishes that integrate local ingredients with traditional European and Brazilian recipes. Amidst nature, gastronomy, and environmental commitment, Praia do Rosa positions itself as a sustainable winter destination, ideal for reconnecting with the planet.

Praia do Rosa, a Unique Natural Refuge

Praia do Rosa is located in an ecological transition zone between the Atlantic Forest and the marine ecosystem, granting it exceptional biodiversity. The beach is surrounded by green hills, coastal lagoons, and rocky areas, creating diverse habitats that benefit both native flora and fauna. This natural richness is one of the main attractions of the place and a driving force behind its ecotourism profile.

Rosa Bay is also a breeding site for the southern right whale, an endangered species that chooses these temperate waters during winter. From the coast, visitors can observe their jumps and movements, without interfering with their natural behavior. This harmonious coexistence between visitors and wildlife is possible thanks to conservation policies upheld by local organizations.

In addition to its pristine beaches and natural pools, Praia do Rosa has marked trails that allow exploration without harming the environment. The community has developed a strong environmental awareness, promoting sustainable practices in gastronomy, accommodation, and recreational activities. All of this makes Rosa an example of responsible tourism in balance with its surroundings.
