Joint operation in Córdoba: two dogs rescued following animal abuse report

Two mixed-breed dogs were rescued last Friday from a home in the Villa El Bordo neighborhood, in Córdoba capital. This happened after an anonymous report alerted about alleged animal abuse.

The operation was carried out by the Environmental Patrol and the Coordination of Civil Brigades Directorate, within the framework of a search ordered by the Judiciary, which authorized the entry into the residence to verify the animals’ condition.

Conditions of abandonment and urgent transfer

A judicial veterinarian confirmed signs of malnutrition and lack of medical attention. Once inside the house, the authorities verified that the dogs showed signs of abandonment, including visible malnutrition and absence of basic healthcare.

The situation was evaluated by a judicial veterinary doctor, who determined the immediate need for transfer to a shelter.

The Environmental Police highlights the increase in reports of animal cruelty. In a conversation with Channel 10 of the province, Commissioner Jorge Suárez pointed out that this type of reports has become more frequent:

“We receive many reports of animal abuse. Many people are becoming aware.”

The official explained that, after the procedures, the animals are placed under the custody of a foundation or authorized person, while the Judiciary determines if that condition will be permanent or temporary, according to the progress of the legal process.
