## The operation: stressed birds and items for clandestine fights
The case originated on **[June 23, 2025](#)**, when personnel from the **[National Gendarmerie](#)** stopped a **[Nissan Frontier](#)** on **[National Route 123](#)**, at the height of **[Felipe Yofre](#)**.
In the truck bed, **[14 poultry birds for fighting](#)** —13 roosters and one hen— were found **[tied up, wrapped in cloths, and in a state of stress](#)**, which led **[Senasa](#)** to order their **[sacrifice and burial with lime](#)**, due to representing an **[animal and human health risk](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/el-gobierno-porteno-ordeno-limpiar-el-lago-soldati-para-proteger-a-los-vecinos-de-caba-del-riesgo-sanitario/)**.
Within the vehicle, items typical of **[clandestine fights](https://noticiasambientales.com/animales/maltrato-animal-en-santa-fe-desarticulan-mediante-un-operativo-policial-una-presunta-red-de-rinas-de-gallos/)** were also found, including:
– A suitcase with inscriptions such as “Gallera Tradition” and “Stud Pure Blood”
– Protective gloves, gaffs, and cobalt chrome spurs
– Antibiotics, wire cutters, pliers, scissors, and veterinary products
– Thread spools, a collapsible dodecagon-shaped box, and a carpet with blood stains
## Expert examinations and evidence: unsanitary conditions and purpose of seized material
Veterinarian **[Federico Lottero](#)** confirmed that they were specimens of the **[Japanese Shamo breed](#)**, stacked without proper sanitary conditions.
Expert **[Alexis Morales](#)** documented the disposal of the animals and the seized items through **[photographs and diagrams](#)**, confirming the **[intended use in clandestine fights](#)**.
## Summary trial: voluntary acceptance and suspended sentence
During the hearing, the three accused individuals — **[R.R.A.P. (27 years), R.A.C. (48), and J.C. De S. (59)](#)** — accepted the procedure provided in **[article 374 of the Criminal Procedure Code](#)**, acknowledging their responsibility and waiving the oral debate.
The judge considered that the acceptance was **[free, voluntary, and with full knowledge of the legal consequences](#)**.
