The ‘Punta del Agua’ Reserve is a private venture dedicated to the conservation of native forest and local fauna.
Located near Luján, close to the Majada River, it offers a safe haven for animals against human predation.
Main Attraction: Biodiversity
Biodiversity is the main attraction of the ‘Punta del Agua’ Reserve. It is a permanent home to numerous species of birds, reptiles, and mammals, providing a paradise for nature lovers.
To date, 185 bird species and several species of reptiles such as lizards and snakes, as well as mammals like peccaries, deer, and weasels have been recorded.
Bird Watching and Photography
The reserve features a permanent water reservoir and two hides (birdwatching shelters), ideal for high-quality photography. This allows observers to photograph species from less than three meters away.
Some species that are difficult to see elsewhere, such as the “soldadito” bird, tufted hornero, Chaco owl, and cactus woodpecker, can be appreciated here.
Strategic Location
Due to its strategic location north of San Luis, the reserve is a crucial habitat for birds, whose species vary according to the seasons. This provides unique opportunities for birdwatchers to find rare or new species.
