The **Sierra de las Quijadas National Park** in San Luis **celebrated its 33rd anniversary** in a big way. On Tuesday, a celebration event was held where the history and **value of this natural area** were commemorated.
With the presence of Governor **Claudio Poggi** and authorities from the **National Parks Administration** (APN), recognitions were also given to park rangers.
## This is how Sierra de Las Quijadas National Park celebrated
Poggi took part in the commemorative event at the Parkโs viewpoint along with the Secretary of Environment and Sustainable Development, **Federico Cacace**, and the Mayor of Quijadas, Bruno Gil.

Also in attendance were rural directors and teachers, mayors, park rangers, tour guides, personnel from the **National University of San Luis**, tourism providers, protected areas personnel, and residents.
With the presentation of the Argentine flag and escorts, the **National Anthem** was sung to kick off the event.
โWe have to say that there is no work more beautiful than this. The place and the office we have to work are fantastic, but that also generates a huge responsibility and commitment: to **manage the natural areas**,โ expressed park ranger **Walter Sibilia**.
โLetโs continue building teams to work, areas must be interconnected to achieve important goals. We are the administrators, but Argentina and nature belong to all Argentines,โ he added.

โThis park, which has **57 thousand hectares, exhibits an incredible beauty** that we should take advantage of, and tourists need to come, know, and enjoy,โ Sibilia concluded.
**Guillermo Cornejo**, a board member of the National Parks Administration, gave Poggi a characteristic hat as a gift.
Later, recognitions were given to **three national park rangers** for their effort, commitment, and dedication. The governor accompanied each one in this special moment.

## About the national park
Sierra de las Quijadas National Park is a **symbol of the natural and cultural richness** of the country, whose conservation ensures that future generations can enjoy and learn from its extraordinary legacy.
Shaped by almost **25 million years of evolution**, it witnessed the passage of indigenous peoples such as the canoeists, as well as criollos whose descendants still inhabit the region.
