Santa Fe regains San Lorenzo solar park and will build four more

The government of Santa Fe announced the completion of the refurbishment of the photovoltaic solar park in San Lorenzo. It is owned by the company Santa Fe Gas and Renewable Energies (Sapem).

This site, which was in a complete state of abandonment, has been recovered thanks to an intervention by the provincial Executive.

Initial State and Recovery of the San Lorenzo Solar Park

According to the Minister of Productive Development, Gustavo Puccini, the park had weeds up to 3 meters high and solar panels covered in dirt, oil, and soil, which prevented their proper functioning.

After months of intense work, the park was restored, significantly improving its productivity and generating a surplus of 8 million pesos in October, compared to the nearly one million peso deficit it had previously.

Characteristics of the Solar Park

The San Lorenzo solar park, the first of its kind in the province, has 4,400 photovoltaic panels and an installed capacity of 1.1 MWp, generating an average daily energy of 3,538 kWh.

This renewable energy can be consumed by companies in Santa Fe, contributing to the sustainable development of the region.

Impact and Efficient Management

The provincial Secretary of Energy, Verónica Geese, highlighted that the recovery of the solar park is an example of how efficient management can transform an energy infrastructure, generating positive impacts in the social and economic sphere.

The decision to terminate maintenance and security contracts, and take direct management from Enerfe, allowed to maximize the energy production and improve the economic balance of the park.

New Renewable Energy Projects

Maximiliano Pullaro’s management has given a new boost to Generfe, the program that seeks to improve the electrical service and promote sustainable development through the incorporation of renewable energies.

In March, agreements were signed for the installation of four solar parks in Arrufó, Firmat, San Guillermo, and San Javier, with a total capacity of 20 MW, equivalent to the consumption of 7,600 homes. These parks are in construction process and it is expected that they will start delivering energy in 18 months.
