Despite the painful cases of animal abuse reported in recent weeks, Santa Fe also has good news this year regarding the rescue of wildlife.
The province saved more than 1400 wild animals and released about 570, according to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
Wildlife rescue in Santa Fe: encouraging numbers
These interventions include birds, mammals, and reptiles and involve rescue, rehabilitation, and, when possible, the release of the animals.
In total, 1402 wild animals were rescued and about 570 were released back into their natural habitat. For each procedure, the ministry stated, they had the support of organizations, security forces, and the community in general.
“The transformation of La Esmeralda and the coordinated work with other provinces and entities are fundamental steps towards a sustainable future where wildlife is respected and preserved for future generations,” said Enrique Estevez, Minister of Environment of Santa Fe.
The official reaffirmed the “commitment to biodiversity” as well, recalling the concrete actions carried out by the ministry he leads.
