Rosario reinforces its commitment against animal abuse and promotes responsible adoption.

In the context of the Animal Day and reinforcing its commitment against animal abuse, the Municipality of Rosario announced that, through the Control Secretariat, 81 specimens have been rescued from deplorable conditions.

Additionally, it was highlighted that the adoption campaign “Hacé Match” is still ongoing, promoting the integration of dogs, cats, and birds into responsible homes.

Animal rescue and protection operations

Throughout the year, the Animal Protection Office has carried out over 200 interventions, mainly in response to:

  • Reports from neighbors and animal protection organizations.
  • Cases of abuse, malnutrition, and abandonment.

While most of the operations involved dogs and cats, wild birds in vulnerable situations were also rescued.

Strengthening of the protection area

The Secretary of Control and Coexistence, Diego Herrera, highlighted the increase in the number of operations thanks to the incorporation of the Animal Protection Office within the Secretariat.

“We have been able to enhance the area and provide it with more resources because these actions are a priority. We cannot allow situations of abandonment that violate current laws and regulations,” he stated.

Improvements in the rescue system

Recent advances include:

  • Specialized agents in animal rescues and welfare.
  • Veterinarians for the care of the recovered specimens.
  • An adapted van for operations, with cages for safe shelter and transport.

These resources have allowed to enhance the response to reports and ensure better conditions for the rescued animals.

Rosario reaffirms its commitment to urban wildlife protection, working on rescues, care, and the promotion of responsible adoptions to improve the quality of life of animals.
