A surprising event mobilized Villa María, in Córdoba, in the last hours. A deer axis was rescued that was wandering around the city and had even entered a house.

Personnel from the Traffic Safety Squadron “Villa María” reported that they became aware of the situation and immediately set out to search for the deer.

According to the description, the animal was “in the vicinity of a residence located on Remedios de Escalada street” in the city.

A patrol was immediately dispatched to the location, and the homeowner provided details on where the deer was among the vegetation.

The officials, with the intervention of the Environmental Police, managed to rescue and transfer the deer, which was taken to the natural reserve “Tatú Carreta”.

The axis deer, also known as the spotted deer, in Argentina, has been introduced in various regions, mainly in the province of Misiones and some areas of Entre Ríos, Corrientes, Córdoba, and Santa Fe.

It has adapted well to these environments, which provide suitable weather and sufficient vegetation.

It has several distinctive characteristics, such as light brown fur with white spots, allowing it to camouflage in its surroundings. They are of medium size: males usually weigh between 70 and 100 kilograms and females between 40 and 70 kilograms.

Males develop antlers that can measure between 70 and 90 centimeters, with a branched pattern resembling a “palm.” They prefer to live in wooded areas and grasslands, especially in tropical and subtropical regions.
