Recyclable eco-friendly bricks: Rawson’s initiative to heat vulnerable homes.

The **Municipality of Rawson (Chubut)**, through the Economic Development Agency (ADER), has launched an innovative project for the production of **recyclable ecological bricks** with the aim of providing heating to [low-income households](https://noticiasambientales.com/compromiso-ambiental/estufas-sociales-un-proyecto-solidario-que-lleva-calor-a-hogares-vulnerables/) that do not have access to natural gas.

This initiative not only aims to meet the needs of **vulnerable families in winter** but also to promote **recycling** as a sustainable alternative for the reuse of materials.

## How ecological bricks are made
The bricks are made from **egg crates, cardboard, sawdust, and water**. They use a **specially acquired machine** to produce them.

*”We are pleased to see the progress of a project we have been working on for some time. We managed to incorporate the machinery, train the staff, and now we can already see tangible results,”* said **Fernando Vosecky**, manager of **ADER**, in a statement.

Between **50 and 60 bricks are produced per day**, and they require a **two-day drying period** before distribution.

Each unit provides **up to three hours of heating**, representing a significant relief for families without gas service.

## More than heating: environmental awareness and recycling
The project not only offers an **accessible energy alternative** but also reinforces the [**commitment to recycling**](https://noticiasambientales.com/residuos/el-aceite-usado-ilumina-una-nueva-forma-de-reciclaje-cuida-del-medio-ambiente-generando-energia/) and efficient waste management.

*”This is not a definitive solution, but a concrete help. We are reusing materials that are usually discarded and transforming them into something useful to improve the quality of life for many people,”* added Vosecky.

To consolidate the initiative, the Municipality of Rawson will launch a **collection campaign** for **cardboard, egg crates, and sawdust**, encouraging community participation in material recovery.

## Expectations and project expansion
The first bricks will be delivered **next week**, while the municipal team continues to optimize daily production with the intention of **scaling up the project**.

It is expected that this proposal will have a **lasting impact**, combining **social benefit and environmental awareness**, enabling more families to access a sustainable heating alternative.
