Abandoned dogs in Salta: serious accusation and urgent rescue demand due to a recurring situation

A new complaint alarmed the community of Salta: abandoned dogs in a backyard, without access to water or food. According to neighbors, this is the fourth occasion that this has happened in the same place.

The case was reported to the local media outlet InformateSalta, where they warned about the critical condition of the animals and demanded immediate actions from the authorities.

Abandoned dogs: why they denounce a “chronic cycle”

The main victim appears to be a female dog who, over several litters, suffered the abandonment of puppies in the same place.

Neighbors indicated that the animals remain chained in a backyard in the southern area, without food, water, and exposed to the harsh weather conditions. This is not an isolated incident, but a repetition of a pattern that continues over time.

Furthermore, witnesses denounced the helplessness in the face of the inaction of the competent authorities. Despite multiple complaints filed with the Municipality, Zoonosis, and the local prosecutor’s office, there were no concrete responses.

“There comes a time when they are released and new ones are brought in,” a neighbor pointed out to the same media outlet, stating that even if the dogs get sick or die, they are replaced by new puppies under equally precarious conditions.

Consequences for animal health and well-being

Repeated abandonment and uncontrolled reproduction lead to serious consequences: malnutrition, dehydration, communicable diseases, and a constant risk of zoonosis.

Without shelter or veterinary care, the animals survive in deplorable conditions, with no guarantee of basic care.

Invitation to responsible action

This case highlights the need to implement effective measures, such as court-ordered capture, local sterilization campaigns, and sanctions against those responsible.

Furthermore, the role of neighbors as whistleblowers and emphatic defenders of animal rights is emphasized, demanding active presence from the authorities.

Faced with these recurring situations, it is essential to promote municipal policies that include healthcare assistance, responsible adoption campaigns, and ethical control of reproduction.

The protection of domestic animals is not only an act of compassion but also a social responsibility and a commitment to public health.
