The catastrophic Dana

Torrential rains and storms caused flooding in several locations, leaving thousands of people without electricity.

Amidst the chaos and despair caused by such a disaster, an uncountable number of animals also perished and suffered during these days of terror.
The rain-fueled floods overflowed rivers, flooded shelters, and affected an undetermined number of animals.
Facing the lack of action protocols and inaction denounced by the authorities, people began to evacuate animals and collaborate with protection entities.
Extremely sad images circulated of the shelters, which in many cases were also destroyed. Many were able to rescue the animals, as reported, but many others still need help.
The call from the veterinary college
In order to help their colleagues and the animals affected by this catastrophe, the Official College of Veterinarians of Valencia (ICOVV), for example, made a call for solidarity.
“Any help can make a difference,” they assure on their website. They ask for “donations of veterinary and office supplies, as well as financial contributions aimed at the recovery of the affected centers.”
Following this path, the ICOVV informed the population about the different ways to provide support and manage it, including creating a list of centers to help animals affected by Dana. From offering psychological support and recommendations for insurance claims.
