Dog-friendly hotels in Buenos Aires: How to enjoy a few days without neglecting these four-legged companions

There is no doubt that pets, more than just companions, are members of the family. For this reason, more and more people are deciding to take their care much further, offering dog hotels and 24-hour attention.

These last points become fundamental for those who, for some reason, must leave their four-legged companion with someone else. Thinking about this problem, a group of friends from La Plata took on the task of finding a solution for this issue: a canine hotel.

This is the “Estancia Guau”, located in Abasto, on 202 street between 502 and 498. The place has about 20,000 square meters and exclusive boxes for each pet, which have 24-hour security cameras so that their owners can see them whenever they want. Their rates range around $30,000 per day, which includes a free adaptation day so the dog and their caregivers can get to know each other.

Additionally, the stay includes recreational activities, both in the morning and afternoon, exclusive walks, and even an Australian tank for those dogs who want to enjoy the water. Moreover, they will be under the care of Veterinary students and people dedicated to transit and training, not to mention the first aid clinic on the premises and an agreement with a nearby veterinarian to attend emergencies.

## A Family Lodging in City Bell

In City Bell, something similar happens, but with a different logistics. In this case, it is no longer a hotel, but rather a family lodging for dogs, where the pets live with hosts of the same species and enjoy the enclosed park.

To ensure personalized attention, the place does not host more than five or six animals at the same time. Here, guests rest on individual hypoallergenic mattresses, in the lodging’s kitchen, or in rooms in case of storms or fireworks, to provide them with a greater sense of security.

During the day, visitors enjoy outdoor games, breaks, park outings, lunch, and dinner. It is important to clarify that each owner must bring their pet’s food, as the place seeks to avoid inconveniences and abrupt changes in their daily diet.

Furthermore, they offer the experience for blind, deaf, or elderly dogs, ensuring that each animal continues with their treatment, applying medication, whether oral or injectable. They also have transportation to the Integral Veterinary Clinic in the area and two veterinarians available for home visits.

## Some tips for those who do not want to be separated from their canine companions

If dog hotels are not an option and you can or decide to take them with you, before traveling, it is important to plan for the well-being of the pets. Ensure they have all their vaccines up to date, prepare a basic first aid kit, and bring their usual food in sufficient quantity to avoid abrupt changes in their diet.

If the trip includes long journeys, ensure frequent breaks for them to hydrate, walk, and relieve themselves. In the car, use safe carriers or special seat belts to reduce the risk of accidents.

At the destination, look for pet-friendly accommodations and avoid leaving them alone for too long. Bring toys or blankets they recognize to provide comfort, and remember that responsible travel not only takes care of your enjoyment but also the safety and peace of mind of your animals.
