Over 150 bird species make Finky Park a natural enclave in the province of Buenos Aires

The Finky Park is established as one of the most valuable green spaces in the southern suburbs. In this area, the Zorzal Birdwatchers Club recorded more than 150 bird species.

In this context, the diversity includes both native and exotic species. Therefore, the park functions as a key reservoir of urban biodiversity under constant observation.

Additionally, recent birdwatching sessions identified nearly 50 species in a few days. This reaffirms the ecological richness of the place and its scientific value.

Environmental education and community participation

The activities organized together with the Municipality of Lomas de Zamora promote the connection between residents and nature. Consequently, courses and observation outings open to the community are developed.

Likewise, these experiences allow for species recognition and understanding of their ecological role. Thus, learning becomes a fundamental tool for conservation.

On the other hand, the sessions encourage reflection on the importance of public green spaces. In this sense, citizen commitment to their protection is promoted.

Additionally, specialists highlight the value of native plants. These plant species are essential as a source of food and shelter for local wildlife.

A green lung that strengthens local biodiversity

The park not only hosts birds but also supports complex ecosystems. Consequently, its conservation is crucial for the environmental balance of the region.

In parallel, the area has moved past privatization risks. In this way, its continuity as a public space and conservation area is guaranteed.

At the same time, initiatives related to the Santa Catalina Reserve complement this process. There, trails and environmental restoration tasks are developed.

Therefore, a network of green spaces is consolidated, contributing to improving the urban environmental quality. Thus, these environments function as refuges for biodiversity.

Location of the park and how to visit it

The Finky Park is located in the town of Turdera, within the district of Lomas de Zamora, in the south of Greater Buenos Aires.

To get there from Buenos Aires City, you can access by train via the Roca line to the Turdera station. Then, the park is just a few minutes’ walk away.

Additionally, there are bus lines that connect the area with various points in the suburbs. Consequently, access is easy for visitors from all over the region.

On the other hand, the area features trails and open spaces ideal for exploring. Thus, it becomes an accessible destination for recreational and educational activities.

A space to know and protect nature

The joint work between organizations and authorities strengthens the conservation of the park. In this sense, constant monitoring allows for updating the species registry.

Moreover, specialized platforms facilitate access to this data. Therefore, anyone interested can learn about the biodiversity present in the area.

Finally, the Finky Park demonstrates that nature can flourish in urban environments. Thus, education and participation are consolidated as pillars for its preservation.
