In the framework of the fair held last Saturday in the town of Alejandro Korn, the Municipality of San Vicente carried out an operation that ended with the seizure of two llamas that were being used for blood traction as a recreational activity for public use, a prohibited practice.
The intervention began after the detection of the situation by local inspectors, who immediately notified the security forces. Subsequently, the Local Police and the Buenos Aires Police intervened through the 2nd Police Station of Alejandro Korn and the Patrol Command, coordinating actions with the Animal Welfare and Protection team of the Zoonosis Directorate.
The animals were safeguarded, received veterinary care and were placed under judicial custody in charge of the RECC NGO. In addition to the corresponding municipal infraction being filed, those responsible were charged under the framework of National Law No. 14.346 for animal abuse.
Seizure of animals in San Vicente
On the other hand, following complaints filed with the UFIJ of San Vicente for violation of the same regulation, a raid was carried out in the town of San Vicente where two equines were seized that were also used for blood traction.
The procedure involved officers from the Buenos Aires Police, under the coordination of Commissioner Fermoselle, along with the Rural Police led by Commissioner Daniela Lomanzzo and the Rural Prevention Command (CPR) of San Vicente. Additionally, the Animal Welfare and Protection team of Zoonosis intervened.
With the aim of providing a comprehensive response to the situation, the Social Development area also participated in the operation, providing assistance on site. The rescued equines were safeguarded by the RECC NGO, at the disposal of Justice.
These actions reaffirm the commitment of the Municipality of San Vicente to animal protection, compliance with the current regulations and the promotion of respectful practices towards all living beings.
