In an operation carried out by the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development, they rescued falcon chicks after the fall of their nest. There were three specimens detected at 25 de Mayo and Perito Moreno, in Capital.
The incident occurred as a result of tree pruning, which affected the nest that housed four chicks, one of which died.

Specialized personnel in Fauna Holding and Rescue quickly responded to the scene to assess the situation.
After verifying the condition of the three surviving chicks, the team relocated the nest to a carob tree, located at a height of approximately five meters.

The Environment Secretariat team continued to monitor the chicks, and, as detailed, they showed signs of good health. They even began to vocalize to attract their mother.
In the following days, it was observed that the chicks began their flight process, successfully completing their nesting stage.
The Secretariat reminded of the importance of maintaining a minimum distance of two meters when observing wildlife and not manipulating or feeding the animals. This can disrupt their natural processes.

If you come across animals in danger, citizens were urged to report it to the Conservation Directorate or the Ecological Police Division.

The aim is to protect wild birds that fall from nests.

The Fauna department team, from the Ministry of Energy and Environment, developed a guide on how to act when encountering these situations and caring for the species.
Furthermore, the agency warned that it is a critical period for wild birds due to the birth of offspring.

- Step back and observe if the parents are nearby. In many cases, the parents supervise from a safe distance.
- Determine if the chick can climb on its own to a nearby plant or structure.
Protect the chick:

- If the chick cannot return to a higher position, place it at a safe height and observe if the parents approach.
When to intervene directly:
- If it is a very small chick, covered only with down, and the nest is accessible, carefully return it to its place.
- If the nest fell, try to reinstall it in its original location along with the other chicks.
With chicks practicing their first flights:
- Fledglings (chicks practicing their first flights) are often outside the nest as they perfect their flying abilities. It is best to place them in a high and protected place, close to where they were found.
